Imola took us into Palermo’s old Jewish quarter and showed us things we never would have found alone — a mikveh hidden inside a private courtyard for over 600 years, an ancient Hebrew inscription tucked into a cloister, and the quiet, ongoing restoration of the old synagogue. She wove in details from historical sources, including a letter from the 1400s describing the city’s synagogue, and you could tell this wasn’t just a script, whaaaa.
